The Rastocine centre is a residential and business complex with gross area of 70,000 m². It features four towers with residential parts in the upper floors, business space in lower floors and also with parking space and a shopping centre. The four towers are 82 m tall measured from the foundation slab. All towers are structurally divided from the parking area and shopping centre because the seismic response of a tower is optimal with elimination of backstay effect. The most difficult task was the design of foundations because the subsoil was complex with different stiffnesses and faults in the most critical zone below the foundation slab of the towers. SCIA Engineer and its various modules for structural design and analysis are used for both global and local models. The Soil-In module with real borehole positions from geotechnical research data was very helpful for the design of foundations with piles in the towers area. The slabs of the shopping mall with the span of 12.5 m are prestressed and supported by columns.
