Introduction
No Baldinistudio Open Event 2025 in Ljubljana, we presented concrete ways to connect the design, construction, and facility management of a building through modern BIM and digital platforms. The focus was on three solutions that together form a powerful ecosystem for collaboration and project control: Catenda CDE, Matterport i Simlab Stages.
Catenda – effective project management in a BIM environment
Catenda is Common Data Environment (CDE) a platform that enables complete transparency and coordination between all project participants.
The lecture showed how Catenda connects project teams, enables model viewing, commenting, task management, and real-time progress tracking – no need for additional software.
Special emphasis was placed on integration with ALLPLAN, SCIA Engineer and other BIM tools, which makes Catenda the ideal solution for digital construction project management.
Matterport i Simlab – 3D Scanning and Digital Twins
The second part of the lecture was dedicated to 3D scanning and digital twins.
Uz Matterport Technology can be created photorealistic 3D rendering of an existing space, which can be used in the design, supervision, and management phases of facilities.
Simlab further enhances Matterport scans by adding interactive information, BIM data, and facility management scenarios, yielding complete digital model of a building ready for everyday use.
Conclusion
The lecture showed how much today Digital connectivity is key to an efficient BIM process – from conceptual design to facility maintenance.
