In 1998., in Leiden, Netherlands, two young developers passionate about 3D computer graphics founded the software company Act-3D in a loft. They quickly moved into a modest office and brought together talented developers, creating software that optimized the first 3D graphics accelerators on the market. A key step was the development of The Quest 3D engine, which found application in simulations, training tools, and the film and TV industry.

We soon recognized the potential of 3D technology for architects. We have set the goal of creating a visualization tool that enables immediate and high-quality results without the need for technical knowledge. In December 2010. we have launched the first version of Lumion, an intuitive and affordable software specifically designed for architects.

Today, Lumion is used by hundreds of thousands of users in more than 180 countries, including three-quarters of the leading 100 architectural companies.
