The most common form of shallow foundations are pad foundations. Various foundation shapes can be calculated in the Shallow Foundation and Shallow Foundation CPT programs.
The Shallow Foundation program uses M-C strength characteristics (ϕ, c) to determine the bearing capacity of the foundation soil, while the Shallow Foundation CPT program determines the bearing capacity directly based on field tests. In addition to the Cone Penetration Test (CPT), it also allows the selection of a Standard Penetration Test or a Pressuremeter Test (SPT, PMT). Both programs can calculate settlement, calculate reinforcement for strip foundations, and solve cases of strip foundations with continuous loading; e.g., under walls. The Program Slab is used for calculating foundation slabs and slabs. It determines deformations, internal forces, and reinforcement of slabs using the finite element method (FEM). Slabs can have various types of supports, e.g., piles or elastic foundations. The program can also calculate floor slabs.
In case the foundation slabs are not uniformly loaded, for example, under columns, we recommend using the program Girder, which allows for determining internal forces in beams placed on an elastic foundation.
